MTL or DTL?

MTL (mouth-to-lung): you draw vapour into your mouth first, then inhale. It gives a tighter draw and suits nic salts. Almost every starter kit is MTL.
DTL (direct-to-lung): you inhale straight into your lungs for bigger clouds, using low-nicotine shortfills. These are sub-ohm kits, which aren't designed for beginners.

Which E-Liquid and Strength?

Use 10ml nic salts or 50/50 e-liquid. Nic salts come in 20mg (the UK maximum), 10mg and 5mg. Avoid high-VG shortfills in a starter kit, as they can burn the coil quickly. Read our first vape guide for filling, charging and changing coils.
